Who was Madame Récamier?
Jeanne-Françoise Julie Adélaïde Récamier (1777–1849), better known as Madame Récamier, was a famous French social figure of the 18th and 19th centuries. She was noted for her beauty, style, and influence in Parisian salons and was married to the wealthy banker Jacques-Rose Récamier.
