Russian Icon of the Resurrection and the Twelve Great Feasts (Dodekaorton)

Era: Second half of the 19th century (c. 1870–1890).

Technique: Egg tempera on panel with gilded background and nimbus; gilded highlights on Christ's garments. Complex iconographic composition centered on the Voskresenie (Resurrection and Descent to Hell), surrounded by the twelve principal liturgical feasts of the Orthodox year. The painting is characterized by a high-quality miniature-like style, with faces finely modeled and rich ornamental decoration. Along the side borders are depicted two standing patron saints, while in the lower right is the image of the Mother of God of Vladimir.

Condition: Excellent overall state of conservation.

Support: Solid wooden panel, intact, complete with the two original interlocking crossbars (sponki) on the back.

Dimensions: 44 cm x 38 cm.

The packaging will be meticulous and the shipment trackable.
