Description from the seller

Hand-knotted rug in Ziegler/Chobi style, modern high-quality production (likely Pakistani/Afghan craftsmanship, last 30-40 years) that masterfully reinterpret the designs of antique Persian carpets.

The design is a classic all-over (full-field) inspired by 19th-century Sultanabad, characterized by a harmonious motif of large palmettes, stylized flowers, and vines. The absence of a central medallion gives an open, balanced, and versatile appearance, adaptable to both traditional and modern interiors.

The color palette is the distinctive feature: a refined beige/sand background forms the base for motifs in deep red (likely madder) and ochre, framed by a vibrant red border that creates an elegant contrast. The deliberately aged (distressed) effect, achieved with special washes and plant-based dyes, yields pleasant tonal variations (abrash) that add depth and character.

From the photos, artisanal craftsmanship is confirmed: hand-knotted with medium density, prioritizing softness and a vintage look. Warp in solid cotton and pile in fine wool (likely Ghazni hand-spun), noted for superbly absorbing natural dyes.

It combines the chromatic charm of an antique Persian piece with the practicality and durability of modern quality craftsmanship. A piece of character, ready to add warmth and personality to its new home.
