Beautiful table clock (often also called a "bracket clock" or bracket clock), made in a classic English style, probably dating from the mid-20th century or inspired by 18th-century models.
Dial features
Moon phases: At the top, within the arc of the dial, there is a rotating disc with the face of the moon. It serves to indicate the moon's age in its 29-day and a half cycle.
Roman and Arabic numerals: The inner circle indicates hours in Roman numerals, while the outer circle indicates minutes/seconds in Arabic numerals (5, 10, 15...).
Manual winding: The two holes in the dial indicate that this is a mechanical clock that requires a key to be wound. One is for the movement of the hands and the other for the chime.
