Context:
The Eames Office was enlisted by IBM in the late 1960's and early 1970's to introduce and familiarize computers to the general population. Projects included the film "A Computer Glossary or, Coming to Terms with the Data Processing Machine," which depicts the path that data travels in the computer and introduces terms specific to electronic data processing. The 1970 Computer House of Cards for IBM's Osaka, Japan World's Fair souvenir. 1971 "A Computer Perspective" Exhibition, film, and book (1973)

It’s where they pioneered molded plywood and fiberglass sculptures, creating enduring icons like the Lounge Chair, DCM, and Eames Chaise — designs that remain warm, functional, and built to last.
Now led by the next generations of the Eames family, it is the custodian of all Eames designs and the founding patron of the Charles & Ray Eames Foundation. It preserves a multidisciplinary legacy spanning furniture, film, architecture, toys, textiles, and more.
