Grande tuile faitière Chinese Ming Dynasty warrior, a moulded, glazed ceramic sancai figure of a rider on horseback with a green, ochre and black glaze, dating to the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), with a height of 33.7 cm and a length of 26.4 cm, in good condition and provenance from France via Galerie/Antiquaire, acquired in 2022.

Large Chinese Ming Dynasty ridge tile
Important statuette of a ridge tile in finely molded and glazed ceramic of a warrior.
A rider dressed in a garment with wide sleeves, wearing an ear-flap cap.
He stands on his horse, looking forward. One hand rests on his waist, while the other is pressed against his chest.
Sancai-type glazed ceramic, in green, ochre and black.
Ming Dynasty, 1368 to 1644 CE.
Height 33.7 cm - length 26.4 cm - Excellent condition - small chips
Provenance: France, Studied by M.B.D.
