Lacquered and gilded shaped wooden tray in Chinoiserie style – Italian production – Second half of the 20th century – 32 x 48 cm

Decorative tray in shaped wood, lacquered on a red/orange background with rich Rocaille motif decoration in gilding, enriched in the center by a figurative scene of oriental taste attributable to the European-Chinoiserie repertoire tradition.

The wavy form, with an undulating profile and raised edges, recalls Rococo models of the 18th century reinterpreted decoratively in Italian 20th-century production. The central scene, finely outlined in golden tones, is framed by reserves and vegetal scrolls executed by brush.

On the back there is the original label “Made in Italy,” confirming Italian production.
