Description from the seller
Mouth-blown glass vase from the iconic Pebble series, designed by Kate Hume and released by When Objects Work, a leading international design platform.
Kate Hume works globally as an interior designer for ‘the rich & famous’. (www.katehume.com)
This concerns the Pebble model executed in deep amber glass with warm honey and cognac nuances.
The vase is characterized by an organic, lightly asymmetrical form. This tension in shape is typical of Kate Hume’s work and underscores the sculptural character of the object. The piece is intended as an autonomous artwork and functions excellently as a statement piece in an interior.
The vase is mouth-blown and hand-formed and executed in deeply tinted glass, which creates a warm, layered glow and clear visual depth.
Subtle variations in form, glass thickness and surface are inherent to the artisanal making process and typical for Kate Hume’s work and the production of When Objects Work.
The high gloss and saturated color create a strong light interaction, both as a solitary object and in combination with other vases from the series.
