Portable triptych icon from the Ethiopian Orthodox Church (Tewahedo) of the 19th century, intended for private or travel devotion.

Dated between 1840 and 1870 during the late Gondarine tradition. The piece features an Ethiopian iconographic program:
- Virgin Mary with the Child enthroned and flanked by archangels
- Saint George on horseback conquering the dragon
- Baptism of Christ, with Saint John the Baptist
- Crucifixion, with Mary and Saint John

Top finial with a carved Ethiopian cross, characteristic of the Gondarine tradition
This iconographic ensemble reflects the central mysteries of Ethiopian Christianity (Incarnation, Baptism, Sacrifice and Protection)

Painted in traditional egg tempera using mineral pigments and earths on carved and assembled wood. With inscriptions in Ge'ez

Closed dimensions: 9x14x2 cm
Open dimensions: 24x12x2 cm

In very good condition, with signs of natural aging and wear consistent with its age.
