Description from the seller

Art Deco vase/lamp base by Oréor, a brand name of the Brussels firm Van Haeleweyck Frères, founded in 1855 and still in existence in 1929. Their address was 63-69 Rue du Vautour (Gierstraat), Brussels. A found invoice adds, alongside the name "Lusterie - Van Haelesweyck Frs - Pendules," also 'Verrerie d'éclairage' (Glass lighting).

Given the nature of the firm, these designs seem (mainly) intended for use as table lamp bases. It is not clear where VH had their lamp bases manufactured. Details suggest that Scailmont, Sars, Hunebelle and Muller Freres (among others) could have carried out such a commission. For more information see: https://www.hogelandshoeve.be/index433.html

So far, six models/molds have been found, and they were probably available in black, light amber (honey), light blue, cobalt blue, sea green, uranium green and light purple. This pale pink version adds a new color to the familiar spectrum.

The vase is in good used condition with normal to minor signs of aging. Small enclosed glass bubbles and glass threads are normal for the production process of the time. Mass-marked with the Oréor logo (see photo). The "Oréor" mark sits on the side of the mold (not the base!) and is written in script.

The height is approx. 17.5 cm, diameter 19 cm.

Photos are part of the description. Carefully packaged, insured and shipped with tracking to your home. We do not ship outside the EU and to (non-EU) countries with a special customs status.
