Ten wooden and leather cobbler's shoe lasts from Italy, dating to 1950–1960, crafted by Forme da Calzolaio, with varied sizes (29x10x15 cm to 23x9x15 cm) and stamps, in good vintage condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
10 custom shoe lasts from the old cobbler's workshop. With various stamps and brands (there is also a date, September 14, 1941). Wood, leather.
A rare and fascinating set of original wooden shoemaker’s lasts, silent witnesses to an ancient know-how, made of skilled hands, patience and precision. Each piece carries the marks of time and work: brands, stamps and traces of use, small imperfections that are not defects but authentic memories of the workshop.
These lasts are not mere objects: they are creation tools, born to bring to life made-to-measure shoes, shaped to the foot and the person, when every pair was unique and unrepeatable. The wood, polished and worn in the right places, tells years of daily use, trials, adjustments and artisanal care.
When arranged together they create a powerful, scenographic overall impression, perfect for:
- shop windows, studios or showrooms
- interior setups with industrial, vintage or wabi-sabi styles
- creative studios, museums, photo or theatre sets
- collectors of objects related to the world of footwear and Italian craftsmanship
Each last is different from the others, with unique proportions, heights and shapes: a variety that makes the lot highly decorative and full of personality. They are not reproductions or new objects: they are original, lived-in, real.
Owning this set means bringing home a fragment of history, a tribute to manual work and to the beauty of things made to last. Objects that do not follow trends but pass through them, keeping their charm intact.
An ideal lot for those seeking authenticity, character and soul.
Visually well preserved, it shows some signs of time and use, vintage objects, as seen in the photos.
Highly decorative objects, with strong vintage charm. Ideal for decorating lofts, gyms, bars or artisan shops.
Entirely crafted in hand-carved wood, each piece with different shapes and features based on the client’s foot.
Judging by the bizarre shapes of the feet, they should date back to the post-World War II era. In fact, back then the hard work in the countryside was commonplace and what suffered most from the heaviness of labor were the lower limbs. Industrial.
Visually kept in good vintage condition, they have been treated with anti-mall and varnished with clear wood preservative. In conditions as shown in the photos which are an integral part of the description.
