Description from the seller
ISLAS COMORAS. 2 Francs. 1964.
- Value: 2 Francs.
- Year: 1964.
- Inscriptions: REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE around the female bust with the winged crown and date at the bottom; ARCHIPEL DES COMORES with the value 2 FRANCS on the reverse, accompanied by tropical vegetation.
- Grade: MS65 (NGC).
Issuance corresponding to the French colonial period of the Comoros archipelago, with a design coherent with the rest of the 1964 series but in a higher denomination.
The obverse shows the female allegory of the French Republic, left profile, with excellent definition in the hair, the winged headpiece, and facial features, while the reverse presents a detailed tropical scene with palm trees, native plants, and the central value prominently displayed. The specimen retains an intense and uniform original luster, with clean fields and sharp relief, which underpins its attractive MS65 grade and makes it a particularly representative and visually striking piece within modern African numismatics of French influence.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
