Description from the seller
ISLANDS OF THE COMORAS. 1 Franc. 1964.
- Value: 1 Franc.
- Year: 1964.
- Inscriptions: REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE surrounding the female bust with a winged cap and the date at the bottom; on the reverse, ARCHIPEL DES COMORES with value 1 FRANC between a palm tree, tropical vegetation and landscape elements.
- Grade: MS63 (NGC).
Coin issued during the period when the Comoros archipelago was part of the French overseas territories, with a design characteristic of French colonial iconography. The obverse features a female allegory in profile, of classical style, finely sculpted with good detail in the hair and headdress, while the reverse shows a tropical composition very representative of the region, highlighting the palm and the lush vegetation. The specimen retains an attractive original lustre, with well-defined reliefs and slight contact marks typical of the grade, offering a very balanced and visually pleasing presentation within this modern African issue.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to be absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
