Description from the seller
GERMANY. Prussia. Berlin. 2 Mark. 1901. Wilhelm II (1888–1918)
- Value: 2 Mark.
- Year: 1901.
- Inscriptions: FRIEDRICH I. 1701 with the overlaid busts of Frederick I and William II and commemorative bicentennial legend; on the reverse, DEUTSCHES REICH 1901 with the imperial eagle and the value 2 MARK.
- Grade: MS62 (NGC).
Prussian commemorative coin issued to celebrate the bicentennial of the proclamation of the Kingdom of Prussia (1701–1901). The obverse features a powerful double portrait, Frederick I — the first King of Prussia — and Emperor William II, symbolizing dynastic continuity and the power of the Prussian state within the German Empire. The reverse presents the German imperial eagle with crown and central shield, finely detailed and with a strong heraldic presence. The piece retains original luster with attractive uniform patina, well-defined reliefs and light contact marks consistent with the MS62 grade, making it a highly representative and sought-after piece among German imperial commemoratives from the early 20th century.
