Frame - Chestnut - carved oval frame

Grand oval frame, rare Emiliana, Louis XV–XVI, carved and chased, mid XVIII century. An important Emilia n oval frame from the mid‑1700s, suitable for the transition between late Louis XV and the early tastes of Louis XVI. Finely carved with vegetal motifs and interlaced ribbons, it features at the top a elegant love knot—a decorative element that anticipates the neoclassical language while still retaining a Rococo ambience. The surfaces, chased and gilded, and the worn gilding impart today a warm and deeply authentic patina, particularly appreciated in antiquarian circles. Frame measuring 90x70 cm, weight about 3 or 4 kg, shipped with insured and trackable postage.
