The lens is suitable for Sony full-frame and APS-C cameras and offers a compact solution for both photography and videography. With its 24mm focal length, the prime lens is ideal for, for example, landscape photography. The high image quality is achieved through an optical design with aspherical elements and ED glass elements (Extra-low Dispersion), which prevents color fringing. The aspherical elements deliver edge-to-edge sharpness, even at the largest aperture.

The FE 24mm F/2.8 G is part of a trio of G lenses, each with a different focal length. The set includes a 24mm, as well as a 50mm, which is very suitable for portraits, and a 40mm, optimal for photo and film recordings. In addition to high resolution and precise autofocus features, the lenses share more in common: all three are the same size, feature identical internal focus, and the same intuitive handling. The lenses are equipped with a focus lock button, focus mode switch, and a diaphragm ring with an aperture-click switch for ideal operation. Thanks to these similarities, they complement each other nicely and lens switching is easy.
