Ancient Frame in Wood and Gilded Plaster – Baroque/Louis XV Style – Excellent Condition
Detailed Description:
Type: High-quality rectangular frame with a deep-groove profile, ideal for antique mirrors or still-life/portrait paintings.
Style: Baroque/Rococo inspiration. It stands out for its wide moulding and the richness of the ornaments that confer importance and depth to the work contained.
Materials: Solid wood structure with appliqué decorations (gilded plaster and resins) finely worked.
Finish: Gilding in gold leaf (or gold-like) with a pleasing antique patina. The surface features a semi-gloss finish that enhances reliefs and the play of light.
Decorations:
Corners (Cantonali): Enriched with bold acanthus leaf motifs and raised floral scrolls.
Edges: The inner profile features a "fuseau"-like work (small spheres or repeated geometric motifs), while the outer edge is decorated with shell motifs and classical carvings.
Condition: Excellent overall condition. The structure is solid; the gilding is well preserved, with no evident losses or structural cracks.
