Refined Mirrors (2) in wood and composite, carved, chased and gilded with gold leaf. Theatrical, beautiful in form and appearance, their greatest virtue lies in the elaborate decorations. The mirrors present themselves as richly carved with rocaille volutes and botanical motifs. A refined central stylized acanthus leaf rises upward, standing out to give a dramatic visual impact. Following this, the carefully executed ensemble of carved and chased motifs surrounds the mirror with a wonderful cascading effect, creating two objects rich in charm and refinement.
The mirrors are identical in size; being handmade, they differ in small details. The original back panels from the period, with the rear cover recently replaced.
Two objects that tell the story of craftsmanship from a bygone era, jewels to pair perfectly with high-end environments and furnishings.
They will be carefully shipped, packed and insured.
