Description from the seller
Antique Tele-Photo Cycle-Poco Camera – Rochester Optical & Camera Co. – ca. 1895-1905 – with Bausch & Lomb Auto Shutter and Lens
Beautiful and impressive large-format wooden camera from the early days of photography. This is an original Tele-Photo Cycle-Poco from Rochester Optical & Camera Co. (USA), produced around the end of the 19th century / beginning of the 20th century.
The camera is finished in polished mahogany with brass fittings, leather upholstery, and a bellows construction. This type of camera belongs to the early field cameras and was used at the time with glass plates or early sheet film. The long bellows extension also enabled telephoto applications, which is reflected in the model name.
The camera is equipped with an original Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. lens in an Auto pneumatic shutter, a high-quality configuration for the period. The shutter includes several settings including T and B. An external viewfinder is also present for quick composition.
The camera is in used, age-appropriate condition with normal signs of wear and age. The woodwork, brass parts, and mechanical components are visually present. The bellows appear intact, but have not been tested for light tightness. The operation of the shutter and mechanism has not been tested and is therefore offered as untested. See the photos for a good impression of the condition; these are an explicit part of the auction.
