Description from the seller
Description:
Antique oak bookcase in Renaissance style (neo-Renaissance), made circa 1890–1910 in the Netherlands. The cabinet is fully finished in solid oak and features original inlaid closures with a ring pull and five original solid shelves (including the bottom shelf).
Condition & details:
The cabinet is in good antique condition with normal signs of use and aging appropriate for a piece of this age. The construction is stable and the doors close well.
Damage:
The back panel consists of two large panels; one panel is cracked and a portion is missing here (see photos).
Restorations:
On the front of one door there is a glued-on cover strip (old repair).
Other information:
The glass is fully intact. There is no active woodworm. Inside are original pencil workshop markings, including the component name “side plinth” on the left and right.
The cabinet originates from family ownership and has been in the family for at least three generations.
Transport:
The cabinet can be easily dismantled into the following parts: top moulding, doors, side panels, back panels, bottom. For transport (from Leidschendam-Voorburg, Netherlands) it is handy to bring a few moving blankets. The largest loose parts are 175x45x1x20 cm (top moulding and bottom) and 100x75x1 cm (back panel).
By arrangement I can make a frame for transport by a carrier. You will then have to arrange the carrier yourself (dimensions of the transport frame will be approximately 180x60x80 cm (LxWxH)).
