Found in the Charente-Maritime department (17) in France. Lieu-dit "La Garde".
These small axes were most often hafted in a wooden sheath made from deer wood. Only the polished active part remains. The rest is partly polished and chipped to fit into the sheath.
Length 8 cm.
Edge in good condition, with just a small old use-related flake.
Provenance: France.
The lot comes from an old private collection purchased at auction.
