Medical optical instrument - 1970-1980 - MTL

The rims are made from red polycarbonate for negative lenses, black for positive lenses and grey for prismatic lenses and accessories.
Made in Italy. "MSD Meniscus Trial Lenses" are a product of the Italian company MSD Optics (Fabbrica Italiana Strumenti Oftalmici, under the brand FI.SO.), which has been manufacturing meniscus trial lenses in Europe since 1980.
MSD was the first European manufacturer to produce meniscus (concave-convex) trial lenses similar to spectacle lenses, with red (negative), black (positive) and white/grey (prism) frames. The company is based in Italy (Solbiate Olona, ​​Varese province).
