Brand Automobilia, Type automobile revue, 13 issues from 1942 in very good condition with authentic/original status.
Description from the seller
I am offering 13 issues of the magazine "Automobilia", from issue 447 October 1942 to issue 466 May 1944.
The magazine "Automobilia" appeared on February 1, 1917 under the name "L'automobile aux armées" which it kept until issue 39 of Noël 1918, to become "Automobilia" from issue 40 of January 15, 1919, bi-monthly; it became monthly in 1931 and knew at the beginning of World War II a sporadic publication, before resuming the monthly rhythm from 1941, until the last issue published in 1956.
In 1957, it was taken over by the magazine "Moteurs", as well as its great competitor "La Vie Automobile" (1903-1956), whose last issue was December 1956.
The last issue before the war was No. 427, August-September 1939.
The magazine reappeared with No. 428 in February under the name "L'Automobile aux armées", until No. 432 in June 1940, during the 'phoney war', and resumed its monthly rhythm, with No. 433 in August 1941 until its disappearance, in December 1956.
The 13 issues offered are those published from October 1942 to January 1943, from May to September 1943 and from February to May 1944.
The issues published from 1941 to 1945 are, as one understands, easily nearly impossible to find since their print runs were very limited. They contain numerous articles by the builders of cyclecars and automobiles Marcel Violet and Emile Claveau, automotive news in France but also in non-occupied countries such as the USA, and many future automotive projects.
This lot of scarce issues will be of keen interest to historians and discerning enthusiasts.
