Leonardo is a Zanotta work table designed by Achille Castiglioni, made in Italy in the 1960s, in wood, with dimensions 199.5 cm wide by 99.5 cm deep by 73.5 cm high, and in good used condition with minor signs of age and stains.
Description from the seller
Leonardo Tavolo - Adjustable Height
Leonardo is a work table produced by Zanotta, with a modern and elegant design that evokes the classic wooden work tables widely used in offices and studios.
The evaporated beech structure, natural color, and the top clad in white laminate, 25 mm thick, give this table a refined and sophisticated appearance. The whiteness of the top complements perfectly the beech of the underlying structure. The table is height-adjustable to allow greater comfort depending on the use and the user’s preferences. Also available with a crystal top.
Lot conditions:
The table is in good general used condition with signs of age
The work surface is intact and shows only light signs of use.
The legs are perfectly solid and functional but show signs of wear—in particular the non-slip rubberized bottom has some small missing pieces.
Authenticity: Authenticity is guaranteed by the Zanotta production logo.
Dimensions:
Width: 199.5 cm
Depth: 99.5 cm
Height: 73.5 cm
Who was Achille Castiglioni
The name of Achille Castiglioni leaves a mark in the history of Italian design. A renowned designer and architect, son of the famous sculptor Giannino, he is particularly marked by the father’s “plastic” approach, which he applies in his works. In his life he often worked with his brother Pier Giacomo: together they experimented with shapes, techniques, and materials, giving life to the iconic Taccia, Toio, Gatto and the Arco lamps by Flos, the Mezzadro stool by Zanotta, and the Sanluca chair by Poltrona Frau.
The Manufacturer: Zanotta
Zanotta is recognized as one of the major players in the history of Italian design. From contemporary collections to the most iconic elements, Zanotta was the company that first included works by the great design masters in its catalog, giving rise to collections of awarded masterpieces exhibited in the world’s most important museums. From the Sacco armchair, one of the most imitated pieces in design history, to Castiglioni’s Mezzadro stool, up to the Sciangai coat rack.
