for sale: MC MTO-11 10/1000, an impressive Soviet-made super-telephoto catadioptric (mirror) telescope. thanks to its Maksutov-Cassegrain optical design, which combines mirrors and lenses, it manages to offer an extreme focal length of 1000 mm in a relatively compact body (although it weighs about 2.3–2.5 kg).

the lens has a fixed aperture of f/10, a characteristic of mirror optics, and manual focusing with a knob that rotates almost 360 degrees for millimeter precision. the minimum focusing distance is about 8 meters. it is known for its distinctive donut-shaped bokeh and for the near-total absence of chromatic aberration.

this unit for sale is in excellent cosmetic condition, with a retractable integrated metal sunshade. it comes with front and rear caps and a set of color filters (often included in the original kit: UV, yellow, green, orange) that screw onto the back of the optic (front diameter 120 mm or smaller rear filters). the mount is interchangeable, typically M42 or M39, easily adaptable to modern DSLRs and mirrorless cameras.
