Description from the seller
Rough Diamond Pendant / New
Set in 925 sterling silver

Weight: 1.50 g / 7.5 ct (weighed without the leather cord)
12.2 mm x 8.2 mm x 8.1 mm
New and unworn
Diamond is the cubic modification of carbon and, as a naturally occurring solid, a mineral in the class of elements. Diamond usually forms octahedral crystals, often with curved and striated faces. Other observed shapes are tetrahedra, dodecahedra, and the cube. The crystals are transparent, colorless, or colored green, yellow, brown, and less commonly orange, blue, pink, red, or gray to black due to impurities (e.g., nitrogen or boron) or crystal lattice defects.
Diamond is the hardest natural substance. On the Mohs scale it has a hardness of 10. Its grinding hardness according to the Rosiwal scale (also called absolute hardness) is 140 times greater than that of corundum. However, the hardness of diamond is anisotropic, i.e., it varies in different crystallographic directions. This makes it possible to grind diamond with diamond. In the diamond powder used for this purpose, crystals occur in every orientation (statistical isotropy), so the hardest among them always act on the surface being ground.
Diamond is optically isotropic with a high refractive index and high dispersion. It shows fluorescence and phosphorescence and is triboelectric. It possesses the highest thermal conductivity of all known minerals.
