AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Theo van Hoytema (1863-1917), complete series of calendar pages for 1912, with Texel as the subject.

Van Hoytema produced calendars in color lithography from 1901-1917. The calendar for 1912 is a report of his trip to Texel: the boat on the January page and then the many bird species he saw there. In April, for example, oystercatchers; in May, a lapwing nest; in June, breeding gulls; and in October, the migrant birds.

Each page was lithographed by Van Hoytema himself in multicolor printing. Because the pages were never exposed to daylight, the original colors have been preserved.
