An original antique fruit knife stand produced by Fraget, one of the most renowned manufacturers of silver-plated tableware in Eastern Europe.
This model is listed in Fraget’s original catalog as Model No. 3444, described as “Podstawka do nożyków owocowych” (fruit knife stand).
The piece is made of silver-plated metal (galvanic silvering), marked “GALW.”, and bears the Fraget Warsaw maker’s mark together with the model number 3444 stamped on the underside, confirming its authenticity.
The design features a decorative oval handle, a pierced circular tray for holding fruit knives, and a richly ornamented stepped base. The form reflects the refined late 19th–early 20th century aesthetic, combining historicist and early Art Nouveau elements.
The stand is offered without knives, consistent with its original method of sale.
