Solid oak side table in Renaissance Revival style, made in Germany, dating to circa 1850–1900.
Description from the seller
A finely carved solid oak side table executed in the Renaissance Revival tradition, featuring a sculptural grotesque mask to the drawer front, flanked by scrolling acanthus motifs.
The piece stands on bold barley twist legs united by a lower shelf, and displays carved mascaron motifs with brass ring pulls to the sides. The craftsmanship reflects traditional woodworking techniques, with visible tool marks and a naturally aged surface.
The wood presents a deep, warm patina developed over time, with age-related wear consistent with prolonged use. The carving is expressive and hand-finished, adding strong architectural character to the piece.
Construction details and stylistic elements suggest a period of production in the late 19th to early 20th century, in the Renaissance Revival manner.
Material: Solid oak
Style: Renaissance Revival / Neo-Renaissance
Estimated period: circa 1880–1920
Origin: Likely Central Europe
A sculptural and decorative accent table suitable for classical, eclectic or historic interiors.
