Description from the seller
The King of Opals:
From my personal collection Opalwanted I bring you this spectacular Australian black opal Teardrop — green-blue flame with red testimony. This Teardrop of black opal displays a vibrant and deep play of color: intense greens and abyssal blues dominate the surface, with red and orange flashes emerging as witnesses of fire. The stone has been hand-polished to reveal its internal scene with maximum dignity.
Origin: Australia (Lightning Ridge)
Shape: Oval cabochon
Color play: Very vivid, visible from multiple angles
Ideal use: Fine jewelry, collection, or as a witness stone
This opal is not offered as a simple gem, but as an act of recognition. A held flame, ready to be mounted or kept as a ritual scene.
- Quality: AAA+++
- Precious gem on a dark basis
- Vibrant and striking color play
- Color: Black and Multicolor
- Weight: 5 Ct
- Measurements: about 16mm x 12mm
- Shape: Teardrop
You can see a small Shorts description below:
It is said that the ancient Greeks believed opal to be Zeus's solidified teardrop, fallen from Olympus after beholding the beauty of the universe. In Roman mythology, it was said that this gem contained the hope of all colors, a fragment of the rainbow trapped in stone.
This black opal, with red, green, and blue flashes, seems to hide within its core the fire of Prometheus, the radiance of Aphrodite’s stars, and the depth of Hades' mysteries. Every glint is like a myth revived: an invisible universe that only reveals itself to those who contemplate it with reverence.
It is not just a precious stone, but a legendary talisman, symbol of power, protection, and ancient magic. A jewel worthy of emperors and heroes, ready to find a new guardian in this auction.
