A two‑piece jardinière on a column base in majolica, green with hand‑painted pink details, by Eichwald (Bernhard Bloch), Czech origin, dating 1890–1919, dimensions 29 × 29 × 28 cm, weight 1 kg, model no. 4301, in very good visual condition with faint microcracks around the inner mounting screw.
Description from the seller
The item up for auction is a splendid, two-piece jardinière on a column base, originating from the famous Czech manufactory Bernhard Bloch (Eichwald). Products from this workshop from the turn of the century are valued by collectors for their exceptional glaze quality and rich ornamentation.
Material: Majolica (glazed ceramic).
Color: Deep, bottle-green with hand-painted details in pink and subtle umber.
Ornamentation: Relief garlands of roses, geometric handles in a meander style, and classical fluting of the column.
Signature: On the bottom there is a visible incised mark in the clay reading "Eichwald" and the model number 4301.
The item is preserved in very good visual condition. The glaze retains its original gloss and depth of color.
Notes: On the fixing screw (inside the jardinière) there are minimal, superficial hairline cracks. These are natural changes resulting from material stresses with the metal pin, typical of century-old ceramics of this construction. They do not affect the stability or appearance of the item when displayed.
