Description from the seller
Rare, large‑format pendant lamp by Glashütte Limburg from the Mid‑Century Modern era. The voluminous shade is made of thick, heavy structured glass in smoky brown/topaz brown, a Limburg‑typical color tone from the 1960s–1970s. The surface shows the characteristic lens‑shaped indentations as well as trapped air bubbles, which create a lively play of light when illuminated.
The heavy glass shade is – as is typical for large Limburg models – securely attached to the solid brass crown with a three‑point grub screw assembly. This construction is a classic feature of Glashütte Limburg and was specifically developed for the large, several kilogram heavy structured‑glass shades.
Approx. measurements:
• Height of glass shade: 37 cm
• Diameter: 34 cm
• Weight: approx. 3,250 g
• Cable length: approx. 60 cm
• Socket: E27
Condition:
Very good, fully functional vintage condition. At the lower edge of the glass shade there are slight, age‑related signs of use, as is typical for large, heavy structured‑glass lamps of this era. The glass is clear, with no cracks or chips. Metal parts with minimal patina.
Highlights:
• Original heavy structured glass by Glashütte Limburg
• Typical lens pattern with trapped air bubbles
• Rare XL shade in smoky brown/topaz brown
• Three‑screw brass crown – classic Limburg construction detail
• Mid‑Century design classic, ideal for living rooms, stairwells, or prestigious interiors
An authentic collectible piece of German glass craftsmanship, both decorative and technically high‑quality.
