Description from the seller
GERHARD RICHTER
(World-famous and the most expensive living painter, photographer, and sculptor from Germany)
RARE ORIGINAL PRINT IN ORIGINAL FRAME
The former Victoria Insurance (now the ERGO Group) commissioned Gerhard Richter in 1986 to create two gigantic, abstract works of art that were to hang in the entrance area of the corporate headquarters in Düsseldorf!
In addition, the artist, with the help of Achenbach Edition, was commissioned to produce and supervise high-quality offset lithographs for each of the works!
These objects were intended as a small "thank you" for long-standing, loyal employees on the occasion of their service anniversaries, namely the motif "Victoria I" for 25 years of service, "Victoria II" for 30 years of service!
The objects, printed by Gerhard Richter and signed and dated, were produced in a limited edition; however, the numbers vary here; different editions are listed, ranging from 2 x 500 to 1 x 2000!
Additionally, later, without the artist’s consent, duplicates of these objects were created, but they are smaller and not as high-quality!
Here you will receive one of the originals from 2003 with the accompanying certificate, which was affixed to the back of the framing by the insurer, bearing the motif title
