Volomat Supercontact tireuse, dating from 1930, in very good original condition, French-made in Paris, powered by 110 volts, with a cast‑iron rugged body, a hinged articulated arm with a compression spring, a numbered rotary selector (1–5) and dimensions 20 cm wide by 26 cm high by 26 cm deep.
Description from the seller
Tireuse “SUPERCONTACT” – Ets. VOLOMAT, Paris
Patented SGDG – All currents 110 volts
Interesting and rare old electric machine identified on the front plate as “Tireuse ‘Supercontact’ – Ets. Volomat, Paris – Patented SGDG.”
Made in France, this is professional equipment for electrical heating/pressing, with an upper arm articulated by a compression spring, a textured cast-iron base, a graduated selector (1–5) and the indication “Tous courants 110 volts.”
Probable dating:
The mention “Patented SGDG” (Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement) was used in France until 1968, but this type of construction (heavy cast iron, hammered finish, electrical components in Bakelite and 110V power supply “tous courants”) is typical of production between the 1930s and 1950s, with a higher likelihood for the 1940s/1950s.
Features:
• Robust painted cast-iron frame
• Articulated arm with a helicoidal pressure spring
• Rotating numbered selector
• Power supply: 110 volts (indicated on the base)
• Made in France – Paris
Condition:
Piece with patina and natural signs of use and oxidation compatible with its age. Not tested recently (electrical inspection recommended before use). Ideal for collection, industrial decoration, or technical museology.
Historical note;
“Tireuse” equipment of this era were often used in professional contexts for light industrial applications, possibly associated with marking processes, thermal contact, or electrical pressing.
Shipping costs are calculated according to the item’s weight and dimensions.
Imports outside the EU.
