Iittala Savoy vase by Alvar Aalto, made in Finland of crystal glass, circa 1970–1980, 12.2 cm high, 12 cm deep, 14 cm wide, weight 672 g, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
An Iittala masterpiece. Vase "Savoy" by world famous designer and architect Alvar Aalto (1898-1976). Pattern was inspired by the Finnish lakes and coastal line of Finland. Initially presented at World Exhibition in Paris in 1936 and produced by Iittala till present day.
A versatile genius synonymous with Finnish design, Aalvar Alto creates in his career many important buildings all around the world, design of furniture and functional items. Awarded with many national and international prizes. Known as "father of Modernism" in Scandinavian countries.
From clear crystal glass. Very decorative, with charming presence in the room space. Stunning optical effects in different light sources.
Perfect and emblematic example of Finnish glass design.
In excellent vintage condition, no chips and cracks, no repairs. Minimal traces of time and use. Some small imperfections inside the glass as result of hand made way of production. Signed on the bottom.
Approximately dimensions - Height: 12.2 cm. Width: ca. 12x14 cm. Weight: 672 g.
