Icon of a holiday - Russia - First half of the 19th century
The edge of the icon was later restored; originally it bore silver leaf, as in the inner field.
The Easter event is in the middle: the Descent into Hell (Anastasis) and the Resurrection of Christ are depicted,
the 12 medallions around the inner field show the church's feast days throughout the year.
