Guido Cacciapuoti, remembered especially for his animal figurines (tigers, fish, penguins, elephants and others), was the leading exponent of a famous family of Neapolitan majolica painters active from the second half of the 19th century; with his death in Milan in 1953, the activity of the Cacciapuoti, which for three generations had played a significant role in the history of ceramics between the 19th and 20th centuries, came to an end.
