Val Saint Lambert - Joseph Simon - Vase - 'Fragnée' - Crystal

Art Deco vase “Fragnée” designed by Joseph Simon for Cristalleries du Val Saint-Lambert near Seraing, Belgium.

Vase made of clear crystal glass, double-layered with amethyst and hot-applied onto the foot. Faces (Cotes plates) are cut with at the top a beautiful optical pattern in a collar of four vertical circles. Protruding collar with fine grinding lines.

The vase is about 25.3 cm high and has an upper diameter of 8.7 cm.

The vase is depicted and described in the book ‘Le verre art deco et moderniste: De Charles Catteau au Val Saint-Lambert (see images).’ It dates from 1926.

The vase is in very good condition with normal signs of aging, a few minuscule scratches on the body and the usual scratches on the base. A magnificent vase and sought after by collectors.
