Sonora Sonorette 40 tabletop radio, manufactured in 1939, in excellent physical condition and tested to be functional, weighing 4 kg with dimensions 180 × 285 × 180 mm.
Description from the seller
This sleek and charming French table radio was fully restored into a device suitable for everyday use.
The beautifully figured Bakelite case and the knobs were deeply cleaned and protected with clear high-gloss varnish (maintenance-free).
Given the poor condition of the original electronics and wiring and the expected subpar performance, it was replaced by a 2.5 Watt tube amplifier, driven by either:
- A solid-state tuner with very good reception on FM (87.5-108 MHz) with a whip antenna and mediocre to good reception on medium wave (strongly dependent on local conditions) with built-in ferrite antenna;
- A Bluetooth receiver (not HiFi);
Since this is a device powered directly from the mains (220-240VAC), there are no external inputs or outputs.
Besides the chassis, the tubes and the output transformer, all components are new.
The defective speaker was replaced by a modern NOS unit.
The station scale is a replica.
Scale illumination replaced by LED strip 6VDC.
Tubes: 25Z6-25W6 (or 25L6) - 6Q7 - 6M7 (tested +90%) - 6E8 (dummy in glow lamp)
B285×H180×D180mm – 3.4 KG
