JAPAN. 1 Yen. 1897 (Meiji 30). Mutsuhito (1867-1912)
- Value: 1 Yen.
- Reign: Mutsuhito (1867-1912).
- Year: 1897 (Meiji 30).
- Inscriptions: Obverse: 大日本 · 明治三十年 · ONE YEN · 900 · 16. Reverse: 一圓 inside a wreath of laurel and paulownia branches united by a ribbon, with the imperial chrysanthemum at the bottom.
- Grade: MS64 (ACCA).
Meiji period 1 Yen silver coin with imperial dragon on the obverse, depicted dynamically amid clouds, with excellent detail in scales, claws and whiskers, surrounded by legends in Japanese characters and the indication of value and silver standard. The reverse shows the value 一圓 inscribed within a crown composed of laurel and paulownia branches tied by a ribbon, with the imperial chrysanthemum at the bottom as a symbol of the imperial house. It presents sharp reliefs and well-preserved surfaces, with original luster visible under an attractive iridescent patina in golden and bluish tones at the edges. The fields are clean and uniform, in line with its MS64 grade, offering a piece of notable quality and visual appeal.
