Description from the seller

“Weavers,” a very beautiful portrait by Eugène Michel (late 19th/early 20th century).
Superb vintage silver print dating from the period in very good condition, loose (not mounted, rare), and with excellent preservation of contrasts, gray tones, and levels of detail.

Eugène Michel was active in North Africa at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, where he worked both as a photographer and as a publisher. His photographs mingle urban views, landscapes, and portraits of so‑called “types,” with particular attention to lighting contrasts and architectural textures. At the crossroads of documentary work and commercial publishing, his output contributes to the construction of a visual imagination of the Maghreb intended for a European audience.

Worth framing.
Small conservatoire prize, not to be missed.

Will be shipped with its sleeve and its neutral pH cardboard backing (ideal for a collection in good condition).
