Art Series: "Record Rebels "
Record Rebels is a contemporary art series that recontextualizes iconic pop culture imagery within a bold, subversive visual language. Central motifs include reinterpreted music and cultural symbols—such as vinyl records, tongue logos, and other emblems of rock and record culture—combined with playfully staged characters.
The works merge street art aesthetics with illustrative precision. Dripping paint, sketch-like framing lines, and intentionally raw textures contrast with carefully rendered figures. This tension between controlled composition and spontaneous urban gesture creates a vivid, dynamic presence.
The series balances nostalgia and rebellion: familiar symbols are deconstructed, reimagined, and placed into a new cultural dialogue. Humor, pop references, and artistic appropriation converge in a tribute to music history, youth culture, and creative resistance.
“Record Rebels” represents the enduring power of pop culture to reinvent itself—bold, playful, and unapologetically rebellious.
Emma Wildfang is a young Pop-Art street artist. Her artworks are scattered in collections all over the world. She manages to create a very special vintage style. After attending the master class, the artist has been self-taught since 2002. Her constant search for new techniques and means of expression made it almost imperative for her to now also deal with spatial structures as a sculptor. Due to the restlessness and instability of her creative process she lives up to the name Wildfang. However, in all of her works, Wildfang does not seek the perfect, symmetrically idealised work, but instead finds beauty in the fragmented, in the detail, and in the enigmatic. Her way of working is to find perfection in the imperfect.
The artwork comes directly from the studio of the artist.
