Christofle - Centrepiece - Food Warmer - Silverplated

Refined double buffet warmer in silver-plated metal, made by the Maison Christofle for its historic Gallia line, a range intended for high-quality functional items, characterized by solid construction, sober elegance, and great attention to design.

The structure features an oval gallery-shaped form, designed to support service plates and keep them warm thanks to the burner complete with the original wick located at the center. The design is balanced and harmonious, with clean lines and well-calibrated proportions, typical of Gallia production from the early twentieth century, often intended for use both at home and for representative occasions.

The original Christofle – Gallia stamps are visible, attesting to its authenticity and production at Christofle manufactories in France.


Historical notes

The Gallia line was born at the beginning of the 20th century as a parallel production of the Maison Christofle, dedicated to table and service objects for daily use but of a higher level. Gallia items are distinguished by excellent silvering, structural robustness, and a sober decorative language, often influenced by Art Deco currents and French modernism.

Gallia buffet warmers were indispensable elements on bourgeois tables and in representative dining rooms, bearing witness to the art of entertaining typical of the era.
