Magnificent and elegant 19th-century ornamental cup, made of patinated bronze and marble, of high workmanship and notable visual presence.
The cup features a richly modeled body with refined relief decoration of vegetal tendrils and leaves, finely chiselled and developed with a fluid and natural rhythm, typical of the finest late-19th-century decorative production. At the upper rim stand out two winged putti in bronze, sculpted with great plastic sensibility and anatomical attention, caught in a contemplative pose, an element of strong symbolic and compositional elegance.
The bronze casting is of excellent quality, with a warm, deep patina that enhances the volumes and details, giving the whole a noble and authentic appearance. It rests on a solid marble base, turned and proportioned, which provides vertical thrust and stability, creating a refined material contrast with the metal.
