Polychrome Porcelain Dish - Ginori Manufactory, Doccia
Italy, circa 1790-1810
Elegant oval porcelain dish produced by the renowned Ginori manufactory in Doccia at the turn of the 18th to 19th century.
The dish features a refined neoclassical composition: at the center, a finely painted monochrome medallion in puce depicting a classical standing figure framed by a gilt braided border. The cavetto is decorated with delicately painted floral sprigs and fruit motifs (strawberries, cherries, and botanical elements) executed in soft polychrome enamels.
The shaped rim is highlighted with a deep cobalt blue saw-tooth border and finished with a gilt edge. The elegant molded handles and undulating outline reflect late Neoclassical taste typical of Doccia production of the period.
The reverse is glazed white and unmarked, consistent with early Ginori manufacture.
