Description from the seller
Superb and rare collector's lot of 4 original Kiln Craft ironstone mugs from The Muppet Show, dated 1979 (Henson Assoc. Inc.).
Made in Staffordshire, England by Kiln Craft (Staffordshire Potteries Ltd.), these feature the iconic 1970s design with vibrant orange/red/yellow borders, the classic Muppet Show logo, and full-color character portraits.
Characters included (the harder-to-find "backstage" series from 1979):
Scooter (with clipboard, glasses, and red hair)
Sam the Eagle (patriotic blue/red portrait)
Statler & Waldorf (the grumpy old men duo)
Beau / Beauregard (the stagehand with hard hat)
These are from the second wave of the series (1979), much rarer than the more common 1978 characters like Kermit, Miss Piggy, or Fozzie. Perfect for hardcore Jim Henson, Muppets, or 1970s-1980s TV memorabilia collectors!
Condition: Excellent / near mint for 45+ year-old vintage pieces.
No chips, cracks, crazing, or visible damage.
Colors remain bright and vivid with no significant fading.
Normal light usage marks inside (typical for age/use – see detailed photos).
Handles intact, bases fully legible with Kiln Craft stamp ("Kiln Craft Tableware Made in England Staffordshire Ironstone Dishwasher Safe S.E.O.") and copyright info.
All mugs are dishwasher-safe ironstone, approx. 10 oz capacity, height ~9-10 cm.
This complete set of four rare characters is highly sought after – individual mugs from this 1979 series (especially Scooter and Beau) often fetch premium prices among Muppet enthusiasts. A fantastic opportunity to acquire a complete, well-preserved group!
