Description from the seller

Indonesian seating group – hand-carved – teak wood – 4 chairs & table – 20th century.

Description:

For sale is an extraordinary, entirely hand-carved seating group made from solid teak. The set consists of four armchairs and a rectangular coffee table, crafted in traditional Balinese-Javanese craftsmanship.

The furniture features finely worked relief depictions on the backs, side panels, and tabletop: including elephants, dance and temple scenes, floral ornaments, and animals. These richly decorated carvings are typical of Southeast Asian style with colonial influence – a combination of functional European furniture design and traditional Asian iconography.

The teak has a warm, golden-brown glow with beautiful patina. All pieces are very solid, sturdy, and intricately finished.

Details:
• Origin: Indonesia (probably Bali or Java)
• Era: approx. 1970s
• Style: Balinese / Colonial style
• Material: Solid teak wood (jati)
• Technique: Fully hand-carved

Handcrafted unique set, not a machine-made mass product
• Representative, ideal for ethno- or colonial-style interiors
• Collector’s and decorative value through elaborate carving
