Description from the seller
Louis XVI sideboard – late 18th century – probable Friulian origin
Elegant Louis XVI sideboard from the end of the eighteenth century, with probable Friulian provenance. The piece is made of walnut, with fillets on the fronts of the drawers and on the sides, typical of production in northeastern Italy in the late eighteenth-century period.
The structure features five drawers with a battened closing: two upper ones of reduced size and three solid ones below. The handles and locks are original, a factor that confirms the authenticity of the piece and its coherent preservation on the front.
Over time the sideboard has undergone some modifications:
– very likely it was originally a ribalta, then transformed;
– the feet are not contemporaneous with the structure and constitute a later addition.
Condition: the piece is overall in order; note the presence of cracks on the top, while the sides are well preserved. Normal signs of age compatible with the period.
Dimensions:
– Length: 116 cm
– Depth: 61 cm
– Height: 91 cm
Possibility of personal transport in Northern Italy, by arrangement.
