Description from the seller
HONG KONG. 1 Dollar. 1960. Elizabeth II (1952-2022)
- Value: 1 Dollar.
- Reign: Elizabeth II (1952-2022).
- Year: 1960.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: ELIZABETH II QUEEN THE SECOND around the crowned bust to the right. Reverse: HONG KONG · 壹圓 · ONE DOLLAR · 1960 around the crowned heraldic lion holding a pearl; perimetral dentate edge.
- Grade: MS66 (PCGS).
Silver 1 Dollar coin with a laureate and crowned portrait of Elizabeth II looking to the right, in a classic British style, with fine modeling in the hair and crown, showing great sharpness in the details. The reverse features the characteristic crowned lion holding a pearl, a traditional emblem of Hong Kong, executed with pronounced relief and excellent definition in the mane and limbs. The fields appear clean with a very attractive original satin luster, accompanied by a light and uniform patina appropriate to its condition. An outstanding specimen for its freshness and visual quality, representative of British colonial issues in Asia during the Hong Kong economic consolidation period in the 1960s.
