Anglepoise Model 90 desk lamp in brown steel, designed by Terry Herbert in the United Kingdom, dating from the 1970s–1980s, with an 18 cm round base, 18 cm depth, 18 cm width, adjustable height up to 90 cm, and weighing 3.5 kg, in good used condition with minor signs of wear.
Description from the seller
In good condition with minimal signs of wear, the Anglepoise Model 90 is a classic desk lamp produced between 1973 and 1985. Born as the successor to Model 75, it introduced technical innovations to comply with the era's new British safety standards, including a reinforced insulation system that eliminated the need for a grounding wire. The Model 90 design simplified the engineering of the previous models to make it more suitable for mass production and home use.
Base: Round with a compact footprint and a steel housing, weighed down by an internal cast-iron counterweight.
Arms and Joints: Made from flat strips of steel rather than tubulars. The fork is a single folded steel strip, fixed with a visible nut and bolt.
Shade: Conical trumpet-shaped ribbed shade, equipped with a push-button switch on the top.
Materials: Uses nylon components in the linkage joints and at the center of the upper hinge to promote smooth movement.
Dimensions: Has a maximum adjustable height of about 83–90 cm and a base diameter of 18 cm.
